About

Allandale is the historic village within the heart of the city of Barrie Ontario. Allandale.ca is our virtual village square, open to all.

In the 1850s, Allandale became a proud railway hub as the train came north from Toronto. Today, this historic gem is changing quickly as old houses are restored and redevelopment increases. The largest redevelopment plans are the Allandale Station site, including a new GO platform, and the retail development at the former Events Centre.

This website is intended to serve the entire Allandale community by fostering awareness and encouraging discussion of all issues relevant to Allandale. By sharing information and opinions, and hopefully in building consensus, the community plays a vital role in directing the future of our neighbourhood.

Allandale.ca is open to the public, and anyone with an email address may comment on any article or register to post on the site. It is also the online home for the Allandale Neighbourhood Association, and is open to other community groups in the area.

All reasonable views are welcome, but always remain the opinion of the author(s). Intolerance will not be tolerated. Allandale.ca, its owners, administrators and editors, are not responsible for the views expressed here, and do not necessarily endorse or agree with the opinions expressed.
